Together we will determine what you would like to focus on so that you can be prepared and confident emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually to give birth. |
Childbirth Preparation
As a pelvic floor PT, former yoga instructor, and trained doula with a BS in psychology who has spent hundreds of hours learning about childbirth, I have a unique perspective in helping you prepare to give birth.
Unlike a childbirth class, one on one sessions allow the process to be completely catered to you. We can focus on: -exercises for opening the pelvis and strengthening the body for labor and birth -processing past birth or sexual trauma -breathing techniques for awareness, relaxation, and pain management -knowing how to move the pelvis to allow baby to descend in the ideal position -pain management techniques -practicing positions for labor -understanding and getting comfortable with altered states of consciousness -myofascial release to manage pregnancy discomfort and make space for baby to be in ideal position -filling in gaps of knowledge around childbirth and the myriad of decisions to make -and more. Don't worry if you don't know what you need, our first visit will help to clarify that for both of us. Doula Services- NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLEHaving someone with you during labor who has knowledge and experience with childbirth and whose main goal is to support you and your support people can be a game changer. Studies have shown that doula support improves outcomes for birth parent and baby. Doulas can give emotional, physical, and spiritual support. If there are decisions to be made I can help you to process the information and make a decision so that you feel knowledgeable and empowered.
If you have completed 3 or more childbirth preparation sessions with me and would like the continuity of having me support you through labor and birth, please be in touch! I only take 1 person per month to increase the likelihood that I'll be available for YOUR birth. Please see the "pricing" page for more details. Postpartum Myofascial Release and Wellness
After giving birth the focus tends to be on the baby. The birth-parent has needs as well, though! Perineal tearing, pelvic pain, incontinence, and back pain are all treatable. A combination of exercise, Myofascial Release, and self treatments can get you back on track. Learning how to move and strengthen can prevent life long pelvic organ prolapse or abdominal separation (which are normal immediately after birth)
Postnatal Myofascial Release
Baby's often need support after birth too. A birth that was very fast or slow can be stressful on babies. As babies are being born, the path through the birth canal causes compression to the skull and takes the head and neck through significant ranges of motion. We don't fully understand the reason that this is so important, but we know that it is important. Babies who miss out on this experience love the opportunity to be supported through similar motions. Myofascial release for babies can help with feeding, colic, re-flux, facial and cranial symmetry, neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy, as well as many other conditions.
Myofascial Release for Fertility Support
If you're struggling to get pregnant JFB Myofascial Release can help. Freeing restrictions through the pelvis including the ovaries and Fallopian tubes can allow pregnancy to occur. Myofascial Release can also help to decrease the stress that is associated with a challenging fertility journey (and less stress = more fertile!)

I began seeing Sarah when I was pregnant with my first baby; she was wonderfully attuned to how rapidly my body was changing in the day to day, while also keeping a perspective on preparing me physically and emotionally for childbirth and recovery.
- Jessie, Jefferson
Thank you, Sarah, for helping us welcome our baby boy into this world. He is perfect and even though my labor and delivery didn’t go how I had wanted it to, it was incredible. My perception of this is largely due to the work we did together and the compassion and love you gave me preparing for this huge life event.
